What everyone seems to be missing is that the strangling isn't literal, it's a metaphor for his attempts at forcing her to love him. It's this point in the break-up phase where the guy becomes delusional and starts grasping for any sort of power he has left. On one end he's got his "hands around [her] neck" trying to force her to stay, and on the other he's saying "who can stop me now?" as if threatening to withdraw himself from her will cause her to miss what they had because he's denying it from her. |

To me, this song is about a guy who has been in drugs and is trying to get out of that way of life, but his girlfriend/wife has had enough and is walking out, instead of helping him get through it and forgiving his mistakes. He's honestly trying to fix himself, but she refuses to see it, and she's doing wrong by not forgiving him. |
