I can interpret two meanings here: the one some of you mentioned about a mother looking for her lost child is one I had not thought of but I think it is rather believable, because the voice of the "character" Sharon sings is sort of protective. The other meaning is the one that the hopeless romantic in me got. I had an experience in which I met someone whom I began to love immediately, like I have never felt about someone...but we were both shy to ask for a number, an address or an e-mail. It's been almost three years and i haven't seen him again. I want to believe I got over him but it is still strange that I that think of him very often...maybe the song can mean something similar, but I do go more for the lost child theory, it is actually more close to the lyrics...but i'm such a loser, haha... |

Sounds to me like it talks about someone who is remembering her loved one who is either gone or dead...I think it is most likely for him to be dead...in any way, he told her to go on. "I prayed to the gods let him stay" (to me this sounds like it is someone who died from disease) "Made me promise I'd try to find my way back in this life" "Reminds me again it's worth it all, so I can go on" About them being compared to Evanescence...I will not lie saying I am a lot into detecting instrumental similarities among one band and another, but I can definitely say the vocals are CLEARLY different. Sharon's register is much higher (or at least she does show it) and has a softer singing than Amy (althought I must say I also love Amy). And about their songs, WT has a more "calmed" style and their lyrics are very different. I love them both but I do prefer Within Temptation, I feel much more represented by their style and lyrics. |
