| Basically Cathy and Heathcliff were childhood friends/soulmates, but Cathy decides to marry the snobby rich guy called Linton (who lives in a big house a couple of miles from Wuthering Heights (the place where she and Heathcliff grew up)), so she had to leave Wuthering Heights behind when she married Linton. So when they were young they were free roaming around the green moors around Wuthering Heights, and when she married she left it all behind to become Mrs Linton. Eventually she dies, so that refers to her coming back as a sort of ghost, when Heathcliff's guest spends the night in Cathy's old room at Wuthering Heights and reads her old diary. In a dream he hears a knocking at the window and hears Cathy begging him to let her in. | |

I think the part about 'let met in-a-your window' is when Mr. Lockwood is sleeping in Cathy's old bed and he dreams that Cathy is outside and is begging him to let her in. |
