Streetlight Manifesto – The Blonde Lead the Blind Lyrics 15 years ago
Why do so many people think that every song on this album is about religion? In my opinion the entire album is focused on a variety of bullshit aspects of our society, not just religion. This song seems to be about how people just unquestionably conform to what they see in society.

"The blonde lead the blind, but now I begin to see
All the things you missed when you were dismissed
Because learning always ended at three
And time after time, you pass along liability
And all the things you say, they only give you away
Because you're on the same level that you were that day"

Everyone conforms, but now I've broken free
You ignored so many aspects of life once you were free to explore and interpret
Three is about the age we come into consciousness and our parents start filling our head with bs
Time after time we blame others for our mistakes and avoid taking responsibility for ourselves
The things you say make it obvious that you still haven't broken free of societies hypnotizing grip
Because you still haven't learned how to do anything on your own

"Oh! Friend! You look too deep at the cover of the magazine
But the words inside they come across deprived
And they force feed shit, but you still subscribe
And you watch, but you don't see
You touch, but you don't feel
And you'll rue the day they'll try to take it away
But they know you'll never fight it if they keep it the same"

People look at the cover of the magazine like it's all knowing and live their lives by it
The information inside is set up to suck you in
All that gets published is designed to brainwash the public with what they want you to see
You look but only see on the level they want you to see it on
Same with the other senses...
To top it off we're completely scared of change
So if they keep it the same we just sit back and watch

"Did you lose faith? 'Yes, I lost faith in the powers that be'
But In doing so I came across the will to disagree,
And I gave up, yes I gave up and then I gave in.
But I take responsiblity for every single sin"

I lost faith in the people controlling and influencing society
And in doing so I strayed from the heard of sheep and spoke my mind
Then I gave up trying to convince people and re-conformed on a subtle level
But I take responsibility for everything I have done wrong

"Soon everyone will see, and everyone will know
That the things we hid were irrelevant and it's all just part of the show
And the blemishes and scars that made us who we are
We're told to cover up, but we've taken enough
And we're not going to stop until it's taken apart."

When society crashes people will start to wake up and realize what's going on around them
And that the things they thought were important were just props in the game of life
We're tired of covering up who we are to try and achieve the media influenced version of perfection
So we need to tear it apart and go back to being individuals

"Come one, come all to observe the fall
Free tickets to the free for all
And it never ends, it goes around against
And we're all bit players in the scheme of things
And I hope someday you'll find
All the answers to the questions on your mind
In time you will cross the line
and you'll realize that everything you thought was right"

Watch as this manufactured society crumbles around us
When we are all left to fend for ourselves
Then watch as it happens again just as it has countless times before
But were all just just one player out of a multi billion person game
Spiritually, our thoughts determine where our lives take us,
So no matter what we think, right or wrong, we make it true in our own lives

Again this is just my interpretation, Streetlight has been my favorite band for a few years and I have done massive amounts of research on various topics he brings up. Either way, whether I'm right or wrong this is what it means to me, and I owe Thomas a huge thanks for the inspiration he has given me.

Streetlight Manifesto – Watch It Crash Lyrics 15 years ago
In my opinion this song is also about how our our whole society was designed to fail, brought about by our ancestors and given to us. Now that it's falling apart in front of us all we can do is "watch it crash".

Also as far as "praying for the death of a man I'll never meet" in my opinion this is directed at someone of extremely high financial status controlling the direction of our world and causing society to crash.

Jay-Z – Run This Town Lyrics 15 years ago
Well I agree with Parkerg for the most part, but there's another portion of this song that was left uninterpreted.

Apparently the Maisonry (and other brootherhoods possibly) are involved with gay sexual acts according to rank, so the lower ranking individual would sexually please the higher ranking individual. Of course this is kept secret for obvious reasons, but if you read the lyrics closely it's blatantly obvious.

"I gave Doug a grip, I lost a flip for five stacks
Yeah, I'm talking 5 comma 6 zeroes dot zero's, jigga"

This could mean he worked his way up and got money out of the deal. Doug was clearly in a higher ranking.

Also I don't think it's "bankhead", but rather "banquet"

And he says "banquet full of broads", then that his "banquets lookin' like millionaires row".

Then there's the Kanye portion...

"It's crazy how you can go from being Joe Blow
To everybody on your d*ck, no homo"

Pretty self explanitory...fits what I said to the key.

"Have you ever had shoes without shoestrings?
What's that, Ye? Baby, these heels"

What's that, Ye? <- aka KanYe, wearing high heels.

"You feelin' like you runnin, huh?
Now you know how we feel"

Maybe he's not to keen on the trade off...

Anyway this is just my opinion feel free to criticize.
