And the Mayans have been saying this for thousands of years, so why does that make David Byrne so special? Besides, you're not looking at the big picture. The song has more meaning to it than simply the destruction of the world in 2012. It has a lot to do with politics, corruption, turning the world into a wasteland, and so forth. So when they refer to 2012 as "progress or termination" it is in reference to our current destruction of the world (wars, deforestation, pollution, etc.) coming to an end and life starting over. So it's up to US to decide if 2012 is progress (for the world) or just the simple termination of the human race. You can look at it both ways. And by the way, that's horrible logic. I can tell everyone I'm God and that I know all and everyone else's opinions are wrong just because I'm God. However, all you appear to be is a douchebag to everyone else. |
