Beware - misery follows. An AMAZING song I believe this song to be about War - more precisely, Nuclear war. Having visited a Nuclear bunker and seen the Public TV broadcast of Nuclear war warning. I truly believe that the best place to be is as close to the impact as possible for a faster death as in Nuclear awar nobody survives!. The song says "Make the Bed, Light the light" as in "you made your bed now lay in it" - e.g. you went to war now suffer the expected consequences "Lady mnercy wont be home tonight" - there is no hope, no mercy - just sure death! It continues "It comes to you as to us all, we're just wating for the hammer to fall" - Nobody will survive! "every night & every day a little piece of you is falling away" - as it would with radiation poisoning the magnitude from a nuclear war. "rich or poor or famous the truth its all the same" Whoever you are you will die - Nuclear war takes no prisoners "Lock your door but rain is pouring through the window pane" - Windows blown out from the force of the explosion - nothing inside can be protected either! "Your struggles all in vain" - Whats the point in struggling to survive? You WILL die! "The shadow of the mushroom cloud" - Mushroom cloud is exactly what occurs when dropping a nuclear bomb "just surrender and it wont hurt at all" - gve in and suffer less pain. you will die sooner if you dont fight it! |
