@[BeatleAnt:31408] On Monday, 16 May 1966, the day of Pet Sounds’ US release, Bruce Johnston arrived at London’s Heathrow Airport carrying a copy of the album. The following day, in his suite at the Waldorf Hotel, Bruce played the album in its entirety for John Lennon and Paul McCartney – not once, but twice. After the two Beatles left the Waldorf they went straight back to Paul’s house and there, inspired by Brian’s incredible music, they worked on the introduction to their song ‘Here, There And Everywhere’, which later appeared on Revolver. |

There are conflicting accounts as to the meaning behind the song. Since it was Lennon's song, you have to take his word for it....and not McCartney who came out with some claptrap about Ryde the town etc. In truth, this song is about the days The Beatles spent in Hamburg in 61/62, playing at The Red Star Club, which was situated in a very dodgy district. The prostitutes lined the street, and more often than not they would have a "letter" with them from the local health clinic saying they were good to go, hence Ticket To Ride. This song is a homage to them. |

@[locaxdave:2858] Originally they wanted to call the song " groovy afro " , but because "the farm" had just released " groovy train", the idea was scrapped. The song started out in a jamming session when after the bass player had been listening to " hot chocolate " greates hits, and took his bass line from that influence. |

hi...just thought i would say that " on vit au jour le jour " translates as " we live from day to day....we see from day to day would be " on VOIT au jour le jour " in french. And " ou vont ces destins qui se nouent " translates as...where are these intertwined/fused destinies going . |

I'd like to point out something about the second comment, Aurore wrote :" he "asked the moon, which the sun don't know"". That's not exacly the good translation. The meaning of this setence is that the sun didn't know the the answer of the question asked...
i dont think this is an accurate translation either...rather..
" i asked the moon , and the sun doesn't know " ie , implying that he did this behind the sun's back...he is unaware that he asked the question |
