I don't think the song is about a woman, especially when he meantions "it's just a matter of a little time before you've got the dog, the tots, the pretty wife." And the reading of the paper and sipping the mug is like a description of a picture perfect family during the 50's. The wife would be making the breakfast while the husband would be reading the news and drinking his coffee before he leaves to work. |
