Close, but I am pretty certain that this song is about Bridwell himself. After the release of Cease to Begin in 2k7, the popularity of this band exploded, and the band toured non stop for over a year. They endured a traveling schedule that they had not previously experienced, and it sounds like it started to take its toll on bridwell. If youve never seen him, then I could understand how you could miss the clear signs that this is a song about himself. He's got a long beard, shaggy looking most of the time. So it makes sense that some clean cut business man would make a judgemental move like jumping off an elevator instead of riding with him. The clothes scattered across the floor alludes to the tour lifestyle, and there are many references to lonliness and longing for friends. He had never toured so extensively, and its taking its toll. Also, 'now and laters' are correct. they are american candy. |
