The Cure – The Loudest Sound Lyrics 15 years ago
Oh, sh**. You guy, don't speak English, do you?

It is about people like me and my wife, who have been together for almost an eternity (over 20 years), and over time we found out that our common dreams were no longer common and we wish for different worlds. Dreams wise, when I look to the left she looks to the right, or when I look up she looks down, or vice versa. Well, most of the time.

Where do you see 'old people', with their 'established loved' and their 'love is understood', etc. that don't wish for the same common things and have nothing to say?

For us, being together for so long (since we were kids/teenagers), the biggest mistakes, I'd say, were that first, we got entrenched in the 'so comfortable, so habitual' daily life, and over time we had less and less to say to each other, and second, we were unable to understand that we’ve changed. She still dreams of me as that young male she fell in love with, and I'm still in love with that young fearless female I knew, but that one, she is not here anymore. I know it is not right, but...

Most of the couples end up like this, I have no doubt, but perhaps they don't feel it or they don’t get it.

Miss Darkk said it right: 'silence can be the most deafening and devastating sound'. Some days I feel exactly like that, I have to check if I still am able to hear.

Final word: when did The Cure sing about happy love? This isn’t country music (kidding).
