| Pink Floyd – Brain Damage Lyrics

This song is very moving to me because it's mainly speaking about the people in modern day society who appear to be good individuals on the outside, but in reality they are power hungry monsters, psychopaths inhabiting the world. Specifically when the lyrics state "the paper holds their folded faces to the floor and every day the paper boy brings more..." it is addressing the infamous people you see in the daily newspaper for terrorism, fighting, kidnapping, murder, and rape. This song is addressing those individuals who poison the world with their insane actions. Now when the lyrics state "The lunatic is in my head, you raise the blade, you make the change, you rearrange me 'till I'm sane. You lock the door and throw away the key. There's someone in my head but it's not me..." That portion of the lyrics I interpreted as the writer saying that although there are, evidently, lunatics in the world as it is, he thinks that he has become one of the psychopaths. Specifically when the lyrics state "You raise the blade, you make the change, you rearrange me 'till I'm sane" it is referring to a lobotomy. In my opinion this song is pure genius, just as everything of Pink Floyd is utterly astonishing just to take in. |

I have to say that Stairway to Heaven is my favorite song of all time. It is so damn beautiful! I watched American Idol this yaer and saw this black woman attempt to sing this song. SHE FUCKING RUINED THE SONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This song should not be sung by anybody else other than the original artist. It is offensive to watch others ruin the song! |

Well, this song was the Joe Perry's first attempt at solo writing. The song is mainly about the financial consequences that come from drugs. If you don't pay your drug dealer, they'll come after you. |
