It's almost like a rhetorical question... this chick he's hooking up with is trying to fill a void, and he's got this sorta condescending or even slightly sinister tone in this part of the song (as well as the "can't believe the lure was enough"). Not that he's judging her, but he (maybe just in retrospect) sees the shortcomings of such a hookup, how it doesn't make anything better. So saying this he could have two meanings, either that no, it doesn't feel any differently... or he's kinda saying "now that it's over, do you see how dissapointing it is". Or maybe they just had amazing sex and they feel refreshed and he's remarking on how vibrant everything can feel when you walk outside to get some fresh air. Time for a cigarette. |
