P.s. it doesn't say in the Bible that you cannot do drugs, just use them consciously and not carelessly to a point where you could harm others or yourself. (Basically) like, don't get trashed, just settle with a few beers or a few hits. I asked someone that knows a lot about Christian

All Chris is saying is that he believes in God, but he doesn't like the fact that the church judged him and kicked him out becausehe sinned. Yeah, i mean he DOES sin, but that doesn't mean he doesn't deserve to be a part of organized religion. He never said he was covering anything or justifying his sins, he just wishes his church would forgive him like God would. Christianity is centered around repent and forgiveness. It is a strong point in the Bible that God is a forgiving God. Chris knows that, but he sees that his church dismisses that fact. I totally understand Curie's point of view. My church is filled with judgemental people who will interrogate you for every little thing when they are the hypocrites here, because they sin too. Everyone sins. It is human nature. Now, while i don't agree with the fact that Chris does/did drugs, its his choice, ultimately. And hopefully he will see what it is to find serenity and happiness in just having a good relationship with Jesus Christ rather than just doing drugs all the time one day. DASIT. Take it from a 16 year old who knows her God. (: |

They never said they were a christian band. Look it up.
here is what the bassist said about it:
"Most of us are Christians. I think the label “Christian Band” is more related to marketing and sales than it does an actual belief in something. You see so much of this “We’re a Christian band, this and that” sort of thing, and you just don’t know what people are like outside of that setting. You can be Christian as you want to be on stage, but off-stage, it’s a whole different ball game with people. I think before you say anything like that, I think you need to live your life according to what you believe, or you’re just a hypocrite and it doesn’t matter what you say on stage. I wouldn’t label us a Christian band, but we’re guys that believe in Jesus, and that’s our beliefs – but we like to talk about it in a different sense, different from the idea of “Evangelical Christian Metalcore”."
SO, to further prove my point, just because they are christians, does not mean that they are inclined to be evangelistic in their music. We can sing about a bad breakup, a divorce even. Christians aren't perfect. Especially "Christian bands." We are always forgiven for our sins, but we just have to remember to not always sin. Christianity is just as much about sin as it is about doing good. So yeah. Idk if that last part made as much sense as i intended, but there it is. |
