I interpret this song as morrissey tallking to his abusive father or someone who had abused him as a child... The lines "sorry will not bring my teen years back to me" because of abuse he had a messed up childhood and was never able to enjoy his teenage years the way most people do, and the line "sorry will not bring my love into my arms" he is unable to have a loving relationship because of all the trauma, confusion and guilt that the abuse has caused him... this seems to be a recurring theme on YOR |
