The Rescues – Can't Stand The Rain Lyrics 14 years ago
This song is so much fun to listen to despite the depressing lyrics. I end up smiling when I hear it.

By the way, it's "No such thing as love, all love letters fade."

Amos Lee – Violin Lyrics 14 years ago
I think some of those lyrics are wrong. Here's what I hear:

Lately I, I’ve been heading for a breakdown
Every time I leave my house
Well it feels just like a shake down
Between the street sweepers and the pushes of the lawyers, who may as well be butchered
Between the small timing hustlers who all seem to feed upon each other

Oh God, why you been hanging out in that old violin,
While I’ve been waiting for you to pull me through

Lately I, every time I try to lie down
Well my mind just gets away
I can’t even close my eyes now
Between the big fish ambition
And the lovers using words as ammunition
Between the work planks, I’ve been patient
In this impossible dream that I’ve been chasing

Oh God. why you been hanging out in that old violin,
While I’ve been waiting for you, to pull me through

Oh God, Oh God,
Oh God, why you been hanging out in that old violin,
While I’ve been waiting for you, to pull me through

Dido – Quiet Times Lyrics 15 years ago
I think this song explains perfectly what it is like to lose a loved one to Alzheimers. My mother has a disease very similar to alzheimers and this song explains exactly how it feels.

"You ask me where I'd go tonight
I'd go back to today last year
We knew how to make each other happy
and there was hope of everything"

Before you knew that they were sick.

"Now I miss you. Now I want you.
But I can't have you, even when you're here."

Because they're not here anymore. It's just a person that looks exactly like them. And that just makes you want them to be there all the more.

"I suppose I have to take you with me,
broken mind, I'd rather leave you here
So forget everything you've seen and known
erase every idea"

You want to leave them so that you don't have to watch them forget who you are. Forget who THEY are. But you can't because you're afraid they'll forget you faster if you aren't there to see them enough. And then they forget anyway.

"If you walk up in the street
And you hold my hand and smile
Well I won't be taken in
'cause I know how it turns out"

The little glimpses you catch of them every so often are almost as painful as they are precious.

"Now I miss you. Now I want you.
You're not coming back. Now I need you.
But I can't have you, even when you're here"

You know they're never going to get better. They're still here but they aren't.

Sia – My Love Lyrics 15 years ago
I think they featured this song in Eclipse purely because it worked behind that scene. I wouldn't try to see if the lyrics have any meaning towards the scene or story at all to be honest.

The lyrics scream that someone she loves is dying.

"Tonight you will sleep for good
You will wait for me, my love"

"I know in peace you'll go
I hope relief is yours"

But she's also trying to say that even though they'll leave they'll still be in her heart and she'll still love them.

"My love, leave yourself behind
Beat inside me, I'll be with you"

Mumford & Sons – White Blank Page Lyrics 15 years ago
Have to agree with silverraincoat on this too.

I automatically thought of a man who fell in love with another man. To me it sounds more like they were involved with each other. I think his lover is struggling with his sexuality and has decided to try to be "normal" and so he's left him for a woman.

That's why it sounds like accusations being thrown and where the rage is coming from in my opinion. When he sings "confess your love" it sounds sarcastic to me. (Although I admit I could be hearing what I want to so it agrees with the story in my head!)
