Mark Ronson and The Business International – Somebody To Love Me Lyrics 14 years ago
I think this song is about the feelings of loss, spontaneity, self-destruction, and need for being loved.

"We are wicked men,
Looking for our buckles to loosen"

-> spontaneity, vulnerability

"By the count of ten,
I wanna see somebody human"

-> sounds like a tipsy man in a party, looking for like-minded soul, someone who's spontaneous and vulnerable like he is.

"And I lost what it was, in the teenage dust of a downtown Romeo
In a couple of weeks, you can tell all the freaks, how you carried my body home"

-> teenage dust = spontaneity, vulnerability; downtown Romeo = a romantic; freaks = endearing term for friends, party goers; carried my body home = taking care of a drunken friend/lover.
I think it's about him having fun at a party, letting loose, being self-destructive (and possibly hooking up with random people). He assumes his lover will love him, take care of him and forgive him regardless of what he does.

"But tonight, I crossed the line,
Dear Mr Lonely, how much do they know me?
I could find lessons in life,
But, once you've earned it, you've already burned it"

-> He's fucked up the relationship. His lover's left him. When he realizes it, it is already too late.

...

"Got my ticket man, and I'm looking for somebody to use it,
I know we pretend, but one of these days we're gonna lose it"

-> looking for a lover, and sadly accepting that what he'll get are possibly flings that won't last.

"And I once left town, when the leaves turn brown,
With a couple of souvenirs
She was in my car, when we hit that wall,
Yeah, you could of moved me to tears"

-> leaves turn brown = end of a good time; souvenirs = memories; wall = limit.
He left when it got difficult, or when it was no longer fun. All that has been to him are just memories. His lover was with him through good times and bad times, even followed him when he left. However, his self-indulgent and destructive personality was causing harm to both of them. He realized that, but he didn't know how to stop himself.

"But tonight, I crossed the line,
I used to know her, when my house was sober,
I could find lessons in life,
Over and over, is it really over?"

-> his drunken behaviour caused her to leave him. and he's trying to cope with this loss.

Also note that

"You never look like yourself from the side, but your profile could not hide. The fact that you knew I was approaching your throne".

She may look like an average person that you meet, but her profile is so big she just can't hide it. She's like a queen with the throne, she's at a higher hierachy. And she knew that she was powerful, and she noticed how difficult it was for him to approach her.

Well I think this song is about a humble guy who likes this beautiful, powerful girl. He really hates it because it makes him feel weak, and he becomes depresed & angry.

First verses, he is so drawn to her & he doesn't understand why, it's like a 'magic trick'. She is
authentic and unique, he's never seen anyone like her before ("your past-times consisted of the strange, the twisted & deranged").

The contrast between a girl sitting at a cafe with a throne on her head, with red strawberry lace, with shopping bags, puffing a cigarette; as compared to a an icecream man on the street in the rain.

He wants to approach her but is intimidated by her power/social-status & confidence. She's like a queen in the castle, he's like an icecream man on the street. Although the girl so close by (just across the street), there's a huge gap inbetween them (in term of power/social-status wise). He likes her but he is intimidated by her. This aggravates him (lighning) & depresses him (crying & rainy afternoon).
