when i first heard this song i didnt think of actual angels. i thought of angel-like friends...if that makes sense. or friends that so perfect and amazing they practically are angels and we should be grateful to know them kind of thing... maybe this first came to mind because one of my best friends calls me his "angel on earth" and such...whenever i hear this song i think of him and how hes so amazing <3 adam has done it again |

i remember reading somewhere that this song is about the challenger space shuttle that exploded while coming back down to earth, and about what it would be like to die and pass on like that. the "dear God, i was terribly lost" part is about how God was there to help them (or in this case adam, cuz hes the one recreating what itd be like) go on to the next life. and the "but dear god, you're the only north star i would follow this far" part just strengthens adam's belief that God will help us and he's the only thing that saved him while he was dying. also, the part about Hercules not being there for him doesnt actually mean hercules. in this case hercules is representing man, and how man wasnt there for him, only God was. idk, thats what i think. either way i love this song so much. owl city forever <3 |

this is the most amazing song in the entire world. my love sang me to sleep with this song over the phone once. whenever i listened to it i thought i would melt. but alas, we werent meant to be. he died in a car crash not too long ago. whenever i hear this song now, i cry. its our song, and it forever will be. sometimes ill put my ipod on repeat and fall asleep to this song. i love him and miss him so much. it hurts. he was my best friend and my boyfriend. but now hes with all the other angels. he is truly my guardian angel. RIP baby. i love you. |

out of all the songs on their new album, this one and party poison i didnt like. but after listening more carefully to destroya, i love it. and you know, it doesnt even sound like gerard. at first i thought it was like mikey singing or something. i guess i thought that cuz i love mikey almost as much as i love gerard. idk. does anyone know if its gerard singing for sure?
