Coldplay – Wedding Bells Lyrics 15 years ago
For people wondering where this song came from, it was originally sung by Chris Martin about a year ago on an acoustic guitar (you can find the video on Youtube) but the song was incomplete. A year later, he sang the full version at an Apple convention on the piano. The video can be found on Youtube.

Rumors are going around that this song has something to do with his relationship with his wife, Gwyneth Paltrow. But he hasn't really said anything about it. It's just your typical gossip.

Arcade Fire – Suburban War Lyrics 15 years ago
My very favourite track off the new album without a doubt. It's a relationship between two good friends, probably describing how they became separated, both physically and perhaps even in the way they think.

"And now the music divides us into tribes"

People have preferences when it comes to music. One group of people may prefer a certain genre of music, while the other likes some other kind. This can "divide" them into "tribes" (Rap VS Rock). Hence, them have different values and following different artists. (who they may even idol).

So people who were once good friends change overtime, as described at the beginning of the song:

"This town's so strange they built it to change
And while we sleep we know the streets get rearranged"

Sometimes changes can even happen unconsciously (while we sleep) without us wanting it to.

Their friends were so different them, and now "All my old friends, they don't know me now".

Anyways, the lyrics shouldn't be looked at too much down to every last detail. Win Butler said in an interview that when he writes/sings a song, he doesn't think TOO deeply about the lyrics. That doesn't mean he doesn't put meaning, it just means that one shouldn't think every single word and phrase has some super significant meaning :P a song is whatever you want it to mean, and arcade fire gives their songs meanings and moods, but they can always be bent and molded slightly to match one's preference. Leaving everyone satisfied! :) This is one of the hundreds of reasons why Arcade Fire ROCKS!

"You grew your hair so I'll grew mine"

Grammar error. It should be "You grew your hair so I grew mine".

Arcade Fire – Wasted Hours Lyrics 15 years ago
The sound at the begining (and ongoing throughout) reminds me of "In the Jungle) from The Lion King. "awimba wip awimba wip awimba wip awimba wip in the jungle, the mighty jungle, the lion sleeps tonight..." lol Cool song anyways. :)

Arcade Fire – The Suburbs Lyrics 15 years ago
The part where he mentions he wants a daughter while he's still young could be a way of looking to the future. Now that he's older, he may understand that world is becoming so much more fast-paced and urban-like. It's losing its beauty. This could very well affect him as well as he grows older and gets used to his new urban life. He wants to show his daughter the beauty of the world so that she may always remember what it once was, and not become corrupted by the new urban era. It would be easier to show it to a daughter than a son I suppose, since little girls are more fascinated by beauty and harmony at a young age than boys.

I love this song! Lots of interpretations here. I'm not sure what it might mean exactly, but when I listen to this song, it reminds me of back when I used to live in a suburban neighborhood over 7 years ago. It gives me a nostalgic feeling of when I was a young kid, and would run around with my friends, playing a bunch of "pretend" games. "In my dreams we're still screaming, and running through the yards". And now that I've moved miles away from my childhood friends, and now that they've grown older and moved on with their lives, even if I went back it wouldn't matter. It seems like my 9 years living there "meant nothing at all" but to have left me with memories of a world I can never relive.
