Iron & Wine – Lion's Mane Lyrics 14 years ago
Love is a dangerous game, but all-in-all its "the best endeavor".

The Lion's Mane is symbolic of how love may shake you up and hurt you once in a while, when you have it, it is the greatest feeling in the world.

Iron & Wine – Dead Man's Will Lyrics 14 years ago
Beyond the self-explanatory side of this song, I think it also conveys that it is the little things in life that you will most remember about someone; A stone found on a barnyard while playing with your brother, or a bone from when you went hunting with your father, a simple string from when you had a baby tooth pulled out.

These little, insignificant objects are actually links to the memories of simple times spent with those you love.

Iron & Wine – Jesus the Mexican Boy Lyrics 15 years ago
This song has 2 meanings behind it (at least in my opinion):

1. The obvious religious references. I agree with some of the interpretations already posted, such as the "born in a truck" (born in a manger) and July 4th birth date making him even more unwanted in his world (America).

2. And on the other, more literal, side, it is the tale of a boy and his friend. The narrator betrays and uses Jesus constantly, and is very selfish towards Jesus. However, through all this mistreatment (such as welching on bets, never returning favors, and running off with Jesus' sister), Jesus still sees him as his brother.

I absolutely love the closing line of this song, "Naked, the Judas in me fell by the tracks, but he lifted me high; kissing my head like a brother and never asking why."
