This song grabbed me immediately the first time I heard it, which was quite recently. My son and I always shared a love of music, bringing things to each other to rave about them and enjoy. We even had a "song" which had seen us through a hard time and meant a lot to both of us. He had it played at his wedding, when we danced the mother/groom dance. He committed suicide, almost three years ago, at only 27. This is not the first time that I felt he reached out to me through music. In each instance, my exposure to the particular song was so random that I felt he had to have a hand in getting them in front of me. I am in pain every day, and I know I will be forever. But I really do think you hit the nail on the head, about it being a reach out from those who've gone before us, letting us know they'll be with us every day. |
