Your explanation makes sense to me. After I read it earlier, I went and listened to the song about 100 more times (I'm obsessed with finding the meaning of it!) and it fit. I mean, in the song she even says bye to Fernando, which is something you would say if he died. She also has that line about how Alejandro has to go "firefight and cool the bad," which could easily represent the imminent showdown with Roberto in Mexico (or where ever they meet up next). And she doesn't want Alejandro to bother her, and to leave her alone because she doesn't want to be caught in the middle anymore. Same with what she says to Roberto. Like I said, TOTAL sense. |
