Lead singer Lacey Mosley said it was written when she was going through a completely new season in her life where a lot of things she believed in changed. She realized she had been too judgmental and felt a need to control all of the aspects in her life. She realized there are some things you can control and some things you never will. It's all about making decisions based on mistaken beliefs and convictions. Despite all of your plans, things can and will not go as you planned. It's realizing that sometimes, a broken heart is your fault, not the person you loved who couldn't love you back. Believing you were right and they were wrong makes you blind to the truth. In the end, finally realizing that the things you believed in were wrong assumptions and the lies created a false perception.
