This song is about the temptation to cheat, not necessarily cheating itself. If you've lived long enough, you might have that one person that you never completely got over. Sometimes circumstances bring you back into each other's lives and that old flame is still there, even if you've moved on. This is about that ex he still has that connection with. That pull and that draw he has to her is very hard to resist. He admits it to her. Part of him still belongs to her even though he's in a new relationship. He doesn't want to cheat but she makes it hard on him not to. |

To me it's clearly a cheating song. Probably because I can really relate to it on that level. I've had people in my life I shouldn't have been with but they are incredibly hard to give up and you just don't know what it is about them that they have such a strong hold over you. They say all the right things and make it really hard not to go there with them. |

I'm a little late but I just heard this song for the first time but it's powerful. I was looking down when I had it playing on YouTube but as soon as it started, I stopped what I was doing and looked up immediately. What I got from it is that it's about the bastardization of ideologies. Things that once held value have become hollow and meaningless. The ideas have just become words and words are powerless with no meaning behind them. Freedom, Love, Peace are no longer ideas but merely words taken for granted and undervalued. Cheap. Just my thoughts. |

Nathan, I did eventually get around to coming back to this song and seeing your reply. I completely get it. I've lost a lot of loved ones throughout my life, including my parents at the age of 4 but I never really understood why people committed suicide until I lost my brother. I know what pain is, trust me on that. |

I have to laugh at those criticizing this song for it's political conotations. The last time I checked, most people write music for SELF EXPRESSION. A lot of bands have opinions on things and some of them are very important messages. Soul Asylum's Runaway Train, Skillet's Looking for Angels, and even Papa Roach's own Lifeline are all social commentary. Personally, I like that Jacoby has an opinion and a voice. It shows he's got some intelligence. It's refreshing after some of the mindless drivel that's on the air waves these days. |

Songs have different meanings to those listening to them. This song means something to me because 5 years ago I lost my brother suddenly. That's when my life started to fall apart. On the outside you'd never be able to tell the hell I'm still going through over it inside. You're supposed to get over it and sometimes your injuries don't show on the outside. This song is about being in pain. Nothing you can do to me physically would hurt more than that does emotionally. He's begging for someone to hear him and understand his pain. He can't go on living the way he is, pretending that everything is fine when nothing is. This is him pleading for help before he has a breakdown. |
