I think the first line is a rejection of the known, the answers life have told her. People are too keen on God, or their answers to everything. They don't want to learn or discover new things, as that might threaten their world-view. The are stuck in a rut, but she want to grow. She has lost her origin, and want to find out the true reality to existance. I think it is about rejecting those answers you have lived by for a period, and then searching for new ones. I can relate to this, some ideas I have hold have had an enormous affect on me for periods, but then they become old, they become a cliche, I find the faults in the reasoning, and must find something new to hold on to. They will probably become cliches too. "Or will I want more". No answer is for ever, reasons can't last. |

I've seen for me that this is a man looking back at his boyhood schooldays, where he was bullied/tormented by this evil little girl. She took his heart and throwed it in a fire. People saw it, but no one did something because her mother runned the school. Even if it's years ago, he still has not emotionally recovered. He is still relives the humilitation, he still is marked. He can't belive the torment is over, because of the damage it has done to him. Who is he to be here now? Perhaps a bit too concrete interpretation, but it was what I imagined. |

The song without a name is an intens emotional state, something that can't be described by words. "No girls are dancing at my feet, no suits are here to meet." This is no superficial state, no pretty dancing girls to lure you into it, not empty suits that try to live up to some stereotype, this is real. Perhaps it is a deep connection betwen two person, like the first realisation that this is the love of your life. It takes you higher then you've ever been before. Sadly, this connection aren't lasting. He is losing the grip of it, he doesn't understand what makes it happen and thus can't make this ideal state last. In this ideal state or connection, there are no walls, no societal expectations that matter, it is just you and that other person. You are in command of what walls you'll put up, but those will only hide the grace, the perfectness of this spiritual connection. But the connection are fading, it will always slip away. |

I think this song is about apathy. He doesn't care anymore, it's not worth the hassle of trying. Everyone else is racing to the prison, which he in his apathy view ordinary life, the rat race to get grades, gain friends and make a career. To him that is worthless, he doesn't have the energy to try. He does not belive that ordinary life will make him any good either. He doesn't even care that people don't like him. He likes them, but it is not worth trying to gain their sympathy. He rather not commit or be disturbed. This is a description of loosing your feelings, your emotions, your will to do anything. All is gray and nothing is good or bad anymore. No anger, nor sadness, just apathy. |
