| Indigo Girls – Watershed Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| I think this song is about basically just living life to it's fullest. The verse about a car accident and wasting time mixed with the chorus being about lingering too long about decisions comes together to just give this impression that we should stop worrying and just make choices and live our lives. Don't stall and flail around and think too long. Just live. | |

I absolutely love this song! I used to be "desperate for changing, starving for Truth", but I've found God and the searching is over! And I am falling even more in love with Him with every step, letting go of all the worldly things I've held onto. I took His invitation, and He took all of me. And of course, I'm always, always, always chasing after Him--but that's alright, since He's been pursuing my heart since before I was born as well. Mutual, unconditional love. It's AMAZING! |

Absolutely love this song! I think it's about a relationship that just isn't working out, and though the singer and her partner are still in love, it's just not going to fix them this time. So she's saying to let her go. |

Does anybody know that one? |

| Pink – Dear Mr. President (feat. Indigo Girls) Lyrics | 15 years ago |

*sighs* It's a nice-sounding song, and I like the guitar music. I don't like how much people drag Ex-President Bush down, though. That job all but ruined him, and I hope he's alright. Whether or not I agree with his political views, I believe in treating people like human beings--something a lot of people have forgotten how to do. That was a real man up in office, you know. A person. With feelings, and deserving of at least a modicum of respect. |

I absolutely ADORE this song! I think it's about a woman who's just a bit messed up, and so she's telling her lover that she has to be strong, and is warning her that she has some issues. The chorus, though... The whole bit between "if you took all the good stuff... still be the boy who rocks your world"... I think she's basically saying "Yeah, I'm messed up, but would you still love me if I wasn't? That's part of who I am." The second verse, I think, is implying that the partner has issues, too. And the singer is saying that if her lover will stay by her through the bad times, she'll stay by her lover. Really a beautiful song! |

| Adam Lambert – Master Plan Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
I think this song is about Adam recognizing the person he's singing to as a closet case, and he's determined to blow that closet open. x3 He talks about hiding things you fear, and the whole "don't ask, don't tell" line, and I think he's talking about how not everyone can be classified as gay and straight when he talks about being pigeon-holed... Not to mention the whole "your skin is burning at the sight of me, your mask can't hide what you're thinking" bit. I think the "master plan" is, basically, about telling the world that mass-exposure to homosexuality will get them used to it. It's the key to acceptance. |

| Adam Lambert – Sleepwalker Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I don't think Adam is still actively running after the man, though. I think this is after the man is already gone, and Adam's still stuck with the memory. This song is all about the aftermath of losing someone you love, and how it always feels like something's wrong. After a huge shock, people often feel like they're disconnected from the world and that there's no real attachment between them and the people around them. Thus, it feels like he's "asleep". | |
| Adam Lambert – A Loaded Smile Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
I think this song is about being in a certain type of relationship, and I'm having a hard time finding a way to describe it... But I've been in the exact same type before. Basically, when he's with this man, he really /wants/ him. And he /wants/ to want him when they're not next to each other. He wants to make it work. But for some reason, it only feels empty for him, and he doesn't even care all that much. The way he talks about waiting for things to fall into place and how he needs more time makes me think he used to be in another relationship and make he still has a connection with them...? I think at the end, he's calling out for the man to do something--anything--to raise a spark in him, to give him a reason to stay. Adam/The singer is helplessly apathetic. Anyway, the loaded smile. I think he means that when he smiles at his partner, it's not really entirely truthful because of all the problems that this song lays out. He's not being that upfront with the man, and so the smile is... loaded. |

| Melissa Etheridge – Nervous Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
Firstly, I absolutely love this song! I think the meaning is pretty obvious. Melissa (or just any person singing that song) is getting eyed up by someone else who clearly wants sex--and by the end of the song, they have it. That final verse "Heart pounds, hands wet, mouth dry, I shake, I scream, I cry" makes it clear that they're either having rough sex, or the kind that she's never had or isn't supposed to like. Another girl, maybe? Anyway, I think the song as whole is just about one person getting all ruffled up and riled (in a good way) about another. |
