BrEnNo1023 would be more correct, as this entire album was constructed as an anti-war, anti-Bush album. Yes, it may seem like that, but even "counting bodies like sheep" on this album can hold an entirely different meaning than the original, "pet", because of the way that the music is constructed. It's not all about the words, ya know. It's about linguistic AND tonical expression.

It's about performing oral sex...specifically on males. So it's him saying that he'd perform oral sex on himself.

It is a brilliant double meaning song. And I really like your explanation. But I think it has more to do with blind and compulsory voting of any group that you have been for the past while without actually knowing their platform. Instead of diving deeper into the political agendas of the leaders, you take everything that they say at face value. There is no "outside the box" to you...you choose to vote for them ignorantly, and then the consequences kick in.

"you" was a reference to everyone...it was collective...

I find it very narrow minded that MJK would write an entire album about drugs, or at least drugs explicitly. There are a lot of songs that MJK does that can be linked to drugs, yes, especially on this album. But even though he may write a song that says something, it may mean something entirely different. Good example would be Stinkfist by his other band called Tool. I'm sure you've heard of Tool. Narrow minded people would state that "it's about fisting, obviously". I was reading the comments on this site for the song and I was like "really? I actually think that it has more to do with censorship than just fisting." but I guess everyone will have their own opinions.

This song is most definitely not about DMT, you are most definitely right. But I don't think that Rosetta stoned is either. At least not ingesting it. Rosetta stoned would be about an LSD trip where he reaches a point where he thinks that he is in danger, and his body is automatically creating the DMT on it's own. Which the body does...this would make more sense, even though he was talking about DMT in the first line.

I think that the lyrics to this song right after the drum solo at about 6 minutes (Fight over yada yada) are off. It doesn't sound like he's saying:
They fight or they die over what?
Over writing!

It actually sounds more like this:
They fight 'til they die over words
polarizing

And another reason why I think that it would be polarizing is that it would also fit the original idea or concept of splitting people up and fighting because of differing beliefs. It makes more sense conceptually, and it makes more sense in the auditorial sense as well.

I know someone who has done both as well *AHEM*...he sounds right. Acid trip. But I do believe it has to do with him reaching a near death experience which induces the release of DMT. There are 2 kinds of DMT. N,N DMT and 5MeO DMT. This sounds an aweful lot like an N,N DMT trip, as this is what gets released into the body when people have near death experiences. People believe that they get abducted by aliens. It sounds like "the power" DMT, not "the glory" DMT. So I would say both LSD and DMT.

PS: a lot of people who have near death experiences "imagine" contact with Extra Terrestrials. I would know...

lol dude. Don't beat your brother down...you're sinking to his level. This song seems to be about how stupid anger and violence seems to be if we do have the ability to reason. So why fight?

@ UnImaginableMeanings : not necessarily. The Islamic faith has the Qaran as a religious text, not the bible. Judaists don't look at the new testament. They believe that Jesus was a philosopher, and not the son of God. I totally believe that every religion twists and contorts the bible to mean what they want to. "For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear." This was taken from Titus. 2Titus 4:3 to be precise.
@visionarysanctuary : I have a problem with all religions that attempt to fight one another because he/she thinks they are right. Jesus believed in love more than anything. "love your neighbour as yourself" was one of his most famous teachings. But we still manage to "forge a blade and beat" our "brothers down". It's stupid.
@aerotour13: no I think that's a lie. Personally I believe that you can interpret God in many ways. I'm not sure if you are familiar with the "allegory of the cave", but here's how I see things. Everyone has their own personal belief in God (shadows being cast on the wall based upon personal beliefs and environmental and psychological factors) but there is a very objective (not subjective...) version of him that exists in a pure form. We never see that, but are amused with our own interpretations of him that we adhere to so we can believe what we want to.
Or you can be an atheist and ignore all that. Personally I'm a Christian. But I have no problems with people of other faiths. I love people and I think everyone should share that same love that I have instead of "making clubs" to beat our brothers down.

I personally think that this song is about evolution and the expansion of our kind. Here's how I get that...
The fibonacci sequence. This is the formula : tn=t(n-1)+t(n-2). Basically this is how you get your present term. You take the sum of the two previous terms, and that is what you get. Example : 1,1,2,3,5,8,13. This song is about being self sustaining. Look at the syllables. They correlate to the fibonacci sequence perfectly. And the fibonacci sequence was the first ever self sustaining formula. That's what I got from it. It's about thriving and expanding. Exploring. Evolving. Becoming the best that we can be by being and doing the extraordinary.
