I think it's about transformation. He says how there was a part of him he felt like hidning, now it comes through. There is a part of him that's "brand new," indicating he is not hte same person anymore, and he can fully love without the "knot" in his heart letting his lovers down every time. |

The way I ynderstand this song is that it doesn't really matter what happens, so you might as well risk it all. Becasue no one will care. It is not literally just a ride at a fair, and I think the tone and lyrics give the lyrics a metaphorical skin. There is a lot of loneliness in this song, which is why there is no reason to care if he dies or anything. |
