I believe this song is about the desire to return to the south after being in other, especially northen parts, of the U.S. These guys are from Georgia, and while touring they go all over so it makes sense. To me it means something similar, as I am from the south but recently moved to the north. It's just about homesickness. |

Ok, so after listening the the original and numerous other covers of this song by other bands, I've formed an opinion. First of all, Fall Out Boy is definitely not copying the original, Patrick Stump sings it at a much faster pace and higher tone than the original singer, Ian Curtis, so whoever said that is just wrong. Secondly, this cover is better than most of the covers done of this song, such as Bono's cover and The Cure's, or atleast just as good. Now, obviously it isn't going to be the same or as emotional as the original, which is sung by the guy who wrote the damn song. He fucking wrote it, no shit it is more personal. But this cover is much more emotional than Bono's for sure. All in all, good cover by a great band |
