| Sufjan Stevens – Sister Winter Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| In the booklet for "Songs for Christmas" Sufjan talks about how he used to hate Christmas and for years never went home to celebrate it with his family or friends. He thought it was dumb and didn't want to be a part of it. Then one day while making pancakes he realized he was being stupid and Christmas is awesome and he fell in love with it again. I think he may have written this song after in hindsight of that, feeling bad about not celebrating Christmas. Maybe that's why he apologizes to them and says he has returned. I don't know. | |

| You have some good ideas, but lose credibility when you use terrible grammar, say things about Jesus getting STDs, which doesn't even make sense, write pages and pages, and post it twice. | |

I agree its confusing. I think what he means is that we know its glorious, because God is doing it. But we don't understand it and we question it. He wants to know why God won't save her. He wants to know why they pray over her body but nothing happens. But he also realizes that he can't understand God. And that God saved him and is glorious in everything he does. My favorite line is "All the glory that the Lord has made And the complications when I see His face In the morning in the window" He acknowledges how great God is yet still doesn't understand him at the same time. Such a beautiful song. |
