Is there any chance that the lyric is "psalms and songs..." not "sums and songs..."? Everywhere I look seems to say sums, but psalms seems to make more sense. Not necessarily in the sense of the book of the Bible, Psalms; more like a poetic, hymn-like song? |

paper hearts, my understanding of the song is that when the skies are grey (i.e. life isn't going so hot), you're safe, because things can only get better. But when the sun's out (like, everything's great), you always know that the rain is coming again. You can't trust the good times, because bad ones are coming. You can trust the bad times, because you know that the good will come back eventually. |
