I love this song! It makes you want to forget all your cares and do something crazy. Because you just don't care. And you love it. :)
They could be talking about rebelling against their parents, but I think you could generalise it to rebelling against anyone that deserves it. The line "I threw your shit into a bag and pushed it down the stairs" says to me that the singer has finally had enough of this person and is going to stop putting up with them and start doing whatever she wants.

I think seato makes a really great point about the paradox in writing a song about forgetting something - which in its essence never lets you forget. I already loved this song, but this comment put it in a new light for me: he can't forget the person, but he can forget that desperate longing for what was never to be. |
