The last stanza is his confession, with almost the exact same wording as her story, this shows that he has been hiding back his feelings for the same reason she has been. If anything this is a sad love story. We never discover if the two end up together, maybe they finish there lives never being together. |

I agree with most posts, this song is about a girl. Though good creativity in the god view.
I think that they are bestfriends, both in love. The story i believe is from the girls view, she loves him and is pretty sure that he loves her too, but isn't sure and she knows that if she tells him how she feels and he rejects her, it would ruin thier friendship, "Oh and it's rising at the back of your mind You never could get it Unless you were fed it." I believe the nxt lines about the skin knees and the places she use to learn is referring to school, it is also open to interpretation that they possibly had a thing at a young age, "The echo's of angels wont return". The Chorus is self explanitory up until the final few lines, "and he means nothing to you and you don't know why" i believe that these lines are a type of confession to her hiding her feelings away. She knows that it should be a known fact that she has feelings for him but doesn't want to take that risk so she pretends to feel nothing for him, only dropping subtle hints. The lines 'You're waiting for someone to put you together' Also shows how she is waiting, she herself wont be the person to act. the nxt line is "or someone to push u away" this is her fall back plan. If he doesn't like her she will pretend to like someone else. |
