This song is about the things that you will do to have a chance with the person you like from a distance. It's all about how lust can lead you to believe that you want to be with this person, and how you dream up your lives together... and his desperate measures to get her on the same page as his dreams. I think that most of the things he says towards the end are propositions that he would like to give the girl, but won't really happen, he's dreaming up what he wants their relationship to be like in a perfect world and if she loved him too, the way he would treat her... etc. When he sings "You're such a pretty melody/I'm just another tattooed tragedy", it seems like he feels that he's not good enough for this girl, she's beautiful and perfect in his eyes, and he's a failure. I wish someone dream about me the way he does about this girl, seems it's always the other way around. *sighs* |
