as someone stated above, i don't think it's about anarchy or any other politic view; i think it's about us, humans, becoming so far apart one from another, so unable to gather and be a community and work together for the common good, and have joy together, and fight together for our future. the voice: well i at first thought it was a woman. but really, it doesn't really matters if it is a boy or a child or a woman, maybe it's meant to be the voice of an "angel" (they like angels, ASMZ) addressing to humans. or the voice of our deepest, truest nature, the voice of our childhood when we had enthusiasm and we could be free and light and joyful. either way, i think the speech is perfect and i don't think it sounds fake or affected or whatever. love this song, it is a great and powerful poem. |

i think 'faking the books' is a reference to fake books used in music where there's only the melody line of songs, useful for learning or for jazz artists to improvise. [wiki link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fake_book] so i think the song is about trying to improvise the life over a basic guideline - waiting to find out what she truly is or which her truly feelings are [if it's about a relationship]. this song is so 'general' that it can have many meanings, so it's just up to the listener to interpret. and i disagree with previous comments, the title is brilliant! |
