*The lyrics are pretty crazy, but the meaning is awesome, and my interpretation of this song is he wrote this from a liberal/philosophical outlook on life….. My interpretation: Can you see like a child? Can you see what I want?: * When you see the world through a childs eyes looking at life in general; they are free from bounderies they are innocent, yet too discover the world, lacking inference which most of us base our decisions from. So basically can you look at it this way with out judgement, and then you will see what I want. She never mentions the word addiction In certain company: * This could possibly mean any addiction, and possibly not her own but anyones, she does not talk about it, its just not something too talk of and not around certain people. Yes, she'll tell you she's an orphan After you meet her family: *This could be for any reason, she may be ashamed of them. They are much different from her, she is her own person, so dont judge me by my family, basically. She paints her eyes as black as night now She pulls those shades down tight: *This is someone dealing with emotional pain, and hiding it. When he says she paints her eyes as black as night now makes me think that he sees no light in them, they are empty. The shades could be sunglasses. I would think, but could be blinds also, it's obvious that the shades are used to hide the eyes, so shades following eyes; it makes more sense that it would be sunglasses. He is saying "now," as if he has not seen her in a while, or after something has taken place meaning after whatever it was she was going through... again any addiction/tragedy. She gives a smile when the pain comes The pain gonna' make everything alright: * To me this could mean she does not show her true feelings when she is in pain, she smiles instead, to cover up how she really feels. She does not know how to cope that is what I get out of this line. The pain is something she has come to deal with, something she has accepted. Says she talks to angels They call her out by her name Oh yeah, she talks to angels Says they call her out by her name: * I think this could have 2 meanings: 1) meaning is that she is in her own world, she does her own thing and the lyrics say: " Says she talks to angels" Says: as if he or other people view her as if she may be a lil' on the crazy side, she is different, possibly alone. 2) Some people may think that she is a good girl that does no wrong, its a cover up. She keeps a lock of hair in her pocket She wears a cross around her neck Yes the hair is from a little boy And the cross from someone she has not met Not yet First line is that she holds something dear to her heart (Anything) She carries this with her. Second line is she has values, but could be a cover up. Third line is what she holds close to her heart, what she is dealing with (Anything). Last line is simply stating she believes and holds on for something better. She is holding on and hiding it the best way she knows how too. She don't know no lovers None that I've ever seen And to her that means nothing But to me it means, means everything: He finally confesses his love for her. She dont know a lover; it doesn't mean that she has not had any; just simply states that she has not found it yet, and because she has not; it means nothing to her, because she does not know that kind of love. He views her from the outside, someone he loves, but is not with. |

Second Line: Maybe in a relationship already that is why he mentions in "vain" could be breaking a sacred vowel..."but he is willing to in vain" Third line: Meaning he wanted to but was unable too, maybe because he was already with someone; possibly self doubt, unsure that what he is feeling would be how she feels. last line: nothing matters when it comes to this person they are willing to forget it all.
