Though many people speculate that King of Limbs got its name from an ancient tree that exists in the proximity of where the album was recorded, I think it could also serve as a reference to the many-limbed Hindu gods. | |

Based on these lyrics, I would say that the song almost has a religious undercurrent (or, perhaps, a concept of Mother Nature as God)- with the flood reference, the fact that the person exists as many (cloud of moths) and one at the same time (one insect), perhaps the fact that he may exist as a cloud of destructive insects (like a plague of locusts), the fact that he is ignored but still offers his own love and loves unconditionally, the fact that he is there in the midst of everything but unseeen (in the middle of the picture, lying in the leaves). Unfortunately, I could not find any videos of Radiohead performing using these lyrics. The lyrics currently on Greenplastic reflect the album version. It would be great if anyone could find a version of the song with the (old?) lyrics if they indeed exist. |
