The whole album is about a hospice worker and his relationship with a cancer patient. That in itself explains a lot about the song. The type of relationship, the extent of it, is up for you to decipher throughout the album. I don't think she suffers from any kind of mental disorder. If you read "Daddy was an asshole, he fucked you up, built the gears in your head, now he greases them up" that explains a lot in itself as well. Her father has a major influence over the way she thinks. |

I love this song. It's so illusory as it builds this gorgeously delicate air with the acoustic guitar and piano and then the words just flow and tie into the melody. But the ending chorus is certainly my favorite when his voice just evolves into this raw and wrenching plead, "The only one". |
