first off let me just say that i love song meanings and reading peoples interpretations of music and lyrics. but i will say that sometimes i think we try to over analyze simple lyrics and miss the basic meaning of the song. the song is about her testing her lover, and seeing if she can say anything and he will still be around. she tells him theres a shark in the water just to see if he protects her, she tells him theres something underneath her bed so he can check for her. "But when I'm in doubt, I open my mouth And words come out" whenever she doubts him, she tests his ability to stay with her. |
