Hmmm.. I think Mitch is directing this song to about half the people who commented on it's meaning. :) |

| And to me, it sounds like "It's your smile that I miss and your frigid eyes". | |

It's not a "clear stab to religious individuals". It's a clear opinion, and belied of his own. And he's speaking in context of someone he knew very personally who was extremely Christian, and he watched their life be miserable because of such heavy faith in something invisible. Examine any person who has heavy belief or faith in something. They will crumble. |

And to lose whatever "respect" (which I doubt you ever had) you had for the band because they make a song that elaborates so brilliantly on the entheogen of Cannabis, is a sad, sad thing. Your closemindedness really exhibits itself in one, stupid comment. Doesn't it? Go smoke a bowl. Also, when the fuck did Mitch Lucker ever say "I'm nothing if I'm no high."? Are you retarded? |

People people people. Seriously, it's just a fucking song about Marijuana. And Mitch's take on it, his experiences, what he feels. Exactly what any artist does. And if you wanna be the stupid jackass to him "hypocritical" for it, then persist to look like a fucktard. Lifted is about Cocaine addiction. Smoke is about the experience of being under the influence of tetrahydrocannabinol. There's a MAJOR difference between the two, and if you can't see it, then don't be giving us your dumbfounded take on the song. I love this song for everything it stands for. "Burn it down, set yourself free" If you've ever smoked bud before, you will know that no matter what device you use, you're burning it down when you inhale, not only the Marijuana itself, but your ego as well. By set yourself free, he means, you're separating yourself from your mind, your ego, your thoughts, and bringing about new insight. If you've ever been greened out before, you'll know you're as free as a fucking bird. It's a beautiful thing. |

My take. The songs definitely about Shrooms. Our man Mitch went on a Shroom trip and wrote one of my favorite songs off this album. By "embarrassment to molecules", he means WE are an embarrassment. Molecules make up our body, and we, essentially, are not worthy of it. "We're so very insignificant" and "I start to think a little differently at what we are" express the fact that us, as humans, are rather petty in comparison to everything around us, even life itself. If you've ever tripped on Shrooms (the right way), you can see that these are sure signs of a psilocybin-induced trip. And that these words make complete and hard sense. |

The song's about a person with a Cocaine addiction. Which none of the members currently have. Marijuana and Cocaine are too completely different narcotics. Bud is natural, Coke is processed with synthetic characteristics along with plant characteristics. Yes, Smoke is about weed, but it's speaking of the drug in a higher perspective than, let's say, Snoop Dogg would. So if a band wants to write amazing songs about drug addiction (when none of them have one), and would like to base the lyrical content of it around an imaginary, or real, person, so fucking be it. Your ignorance leads you to believe SS is contradicting themselves. |
