Summary of the song: No matter who you are, where you are, be yourself. Don't let fame, or fortune, or poverty, change who you are. |

@cb06 Personally, I prefer 311 a bit more. But I digress. Pretty much I agree with your interpretation. |

About liking, or loving, a girl, and screwing it up. I remember listening to this a while back, when a friend announced to me that he was going to ask out a girl I had been really liked for about 4 years, and was right about to start talking with her, hopefully becoming friends with her. I tried, in the beginning with her, to be calm and collected, and ended up looking like a moron. Good times. Actually, not really. |

| 311 – Large In The Margin Lyrics | 15 years ago |

I think this song is about doing something you're not proud of, and not being able to get away from it. When I think of Margins, I think of the sidelines, out of everyone's view. If something is "Large in the margin" it means that it is important to him (Singer, Nick), but no one else can see it/ cares. So its about an internal struggle about something that you did. This is further reinforced by "My drama unfolds behind closed doors." By this he might mean that, again, something is bothering him but noone knows about it but him. "you think youre moving closer when suddenly you wrecked it" By this he means that, whenever he tries to move on with his life, it (the problem, whatever is bothering him), keeps screwing him up. And that thing is him. "but all the same, the pain gains wisdom" Either means "From the pain you gain wisdom", or "The pain/problem grows smarter" "as if you aint had enough then youre in some" Again, whenever he tries to get away from it, the problem comes back. "prison of your own creation" The problem is him, or his doing. "mental dilation look at what your facin placin blame in every direction (what?) but in the end its your own infection, (di?)" But he doesn't want to admit that its his fault, or that he's the problem. Great song, beautiful lyrics, and deep as well. |

I'm betting this is about addiction, to anything really. Drugs, alcohol, that thing that starts with a p. Great song. |

"Four A.M. this hotel room and I think of you Not in anger, but in danger of calling you My mind's a long, long way from it was then And now the good times just keep drifting back in." I think its actually "it was dead", as in feeling brain dead and worthless. Great song, about loving someone and not being able to get them out of your head. |

Could also be about letting anger out. "In your face And dow your throat And it feels so good 'fraid so Fuck it up y'all In you face And down your throat It feels so good" In your face could be about yelling at someone, and "feels so good" could be about the feeling of relief once you've said something. |
