"Someone's deciding whether or not to steal." I think this line is about suicide. Opens the window and hears kids outside, their small every day problems, just a regular day... |

This is how I interpret this song too. But I do think this part is imaginary: "and the pride inside their eyes is synchronised to a love you'll never know so much more than you can show" Because he/she thought they'd be feeling better by now and everyone will be proud for her/his brave "fight" and recovery, instead there's misery in their eyes. This song makes me feel very sad |

I honestly don't think the man has any disorder at all. He's just your average man. We all have thousands faces that we wear. Just think about it, you're not the same person at work/school/party/with your family/lover |

I agree, I also think this line is about drugs, LSD specifically. |

I feel sad for the song's main character although she doesn't realize the sadness of her situation. She dreams about a life with the man she loves (the baby with graffittied toys), she wants to be with him, to live to the fullest but is scared to do so, she's afraid to feel and to be hurt: "But every time the tide come in to take me home I get scared NOW I'm sitting here alone" So she offers him that comfortable (to her) relationship where they don't hurt each other and everything is fine: "Just come and open up your folding chair next to me My feet are buried in the sand and there's a breeze" Why jump in the sea when it's so warm and comfy at the beach? Perhaps that's why she sings that "the sea is just a wetter version of the skies" - she can't reach it, and why try anyways. He's upset about her apparent coldness, he might even think she doesn't love him:, so she sings to him: "Maybe one day you'll understand That I want nothing from you but to sweetly hold your hand Till that day just please don't be so down Don't make frowns, you silly clown" The line "There's a shadow, you can't see my eyes" confirms that not only is she afraid to show her true feelings. Oh, and the "perfect body" part is definitely about female insecurity, although when I heard about the lashes for the first time I laughed, especially when she sang "Yes they do". :) I love her songs |
