While I am not going to say rap has caused the downfall of society, it has turned people more into status obsessed drones. If you have giant chains(which to me, just looks stupid and foolish, even you emo kids out there, the 50 chains on your pants), wear whatever the flavor of the week clothing out there, have rims on your car(which not is ugly, but bad for the car as well) then, you fit in to the world today.

Rap had a meaning at one time, Public Enemy, KRS-One, Tupac, and a few others, rapped about real life, social struggles, political struggles, not this consumer driven crap out there today. You have these fantasy gangstas like Gucci, Woka Flocka whatever, Lil' Wayne(who, yes, he sounds like a goat) that have no talent but talking about bitches, bling and using Auto-tune. But, dumb youth eat this stuff up. Just like back in the days when grunge came around, Nirvana, honestly? one of the least talented bands(IMO) but, we all, myself included, ate it up. Why, cause we lacked individuality, and we were sheep, much like modern rap fans are today....

I do not listen to much modern rap, Eminem, Outkast, and a few others. But as far as this sex driven, bling bling crap, you guys can keep it.

Evans Blue – She Fell Lyrics 15 years ago
This song hits me hard. It goes hand in hand with a woman that I have always been crazy about, who happens to be one of my closest friends.

To me, Kevin is speaking of the intricate cycle of two people who at one time, the guy is interested in the girl, while the girl may or may not be interested in him( maybe she just won't say she is) when he starts giving up on her, she falls for him( over his head, ahhh:) and then she starts giving up, and he feels for her, but she has nothing to do with him in that light, till he gives up on her, and back and forth.

This is a situation I had for awhile, she liked me, I was with someone else or just was scared to tell her, then I wanted to tell her, she was somewhere else, till I told her and it kind of put an end to it(in my case, while it hurt, I realize how great of a friend this woman truly is, and grateful for not having a relationship, that could have ended badly) Though in rare moments I think, hey, I could have been with her, and that is just enough of a boost for me, I got something that is sometimes, better than romance..

But I always seen this song as that never ending cycle of romance that is just not truly spoken, or not meant to be....just my thought:))) I miss the real E|B

Ahh, Evans Blue, a band that can write such long songs and you just do not loose interest. Not really a fan anymore since Kevin left the band, seen them when they can to Lima, Ohio here and really, not liking the new singer, but hey, it happens.

Cold, The Promise and the Threat and Dark that Follows revolve around the same girl.

Cold(But I'm still here), you know how you fall in love so damn fast with someone? How when that "Honeymoon" period wears off and you start seeing the things in the other you dislike? The girl starts to see that she wants something more...exciting. What she wants to go for, is everything he is against " I don't love, hate, fuck etc. like they do" She is selling him, and herself out for something better in her eyes. Too comfortable meaning, that comfort zone you hit with your mate, where things are too easy, to obvious, yet, not one of you do a thing to change it.

The Promise and the Threat, a song that holds more meaning to me(Love Cold, but it is a little higher to me) the girl has left, and yet still having attachment to the singer, he tries to get her to see that he loves her for who she is, they want her for what she is not, I.E. "They" from Cold. He finally is fed up, to the point where you stop caring and realize it is over, she is leaving."Is that a promise, or a threat?"

Dark that Follows, fuck, that song kills me every time, it reminds me of a woman who was my best friend, and we fell in love, and fell apart. The song, the relationship is over now, and he is seeing all the things she said that she never should have said to him, why say those things? when in time, you will leave. The disease is the man she fell for after leaving him, he is not good enough for her, and the singer knows it, but as time goes on, he sees her as the disease more so, and now that it is all over, and he is reaching closure, he finds that she was the disease in his life, and has let go and moved on.

I never listened to a band such as EB, meaning, never heard a group that could really sum up every, single feeling involving the emotions of love, love, compassion, care, hurt, sorrow, remorse, regret, hate, anger than finally, the closure...they are just fucking amazing, and damn, why did Kevin get kicked out!!!!
