I think he is singing to some deep, inner, hidden part of himself, an unacknowledged feminine self, buried very deep, which is why no one can see her. He has hope that some day, he will be able to not have to hide this part of him, that he'll be able t free her. Of course, those of us who have followed him over the years have always seen her, but he seems blind to that fact. |
