Something has obviously happened to her when she was a child which she was punished for and she has carried the guilt all these years. Maybe something that isnt supposed to happen to a child which is why she says all she really wanted was her father, meaning she just wanted to be able to be 'daddys girl' like a normal typical young girl in childhood. I am cnfused about this verse, can anyone make any sense of it?: "I killed a dog so small and rare Touched his techni-coloured hair" Many references to a dog????? |

| I totally agree, its similar to suffering from paranoia and thinking others are staring and not being able to make a decision as all you can think about is your surroundings and the panic! I think the whole song relates to depression, OCD and Anxiety - obsessions and addictive personality are huge factors for these conditions. love her mixture of deep meaningful lyrics and the transition to the obvious lighter description of something as simple as going to the supermarket - a bit like Bipolar! Well done Marina i love it! | |

Yes you are right, also the second verse is incorrect. it should be: "Girls oh girls wag your tails to the beat 'Girls Aloud' oh the journo's in heat Write such good stories oh their mothers must be proud Making money off your insecurity and doubt" And i agree with ItalianCarne above, Marina is highlighting how Girls Aloud have revealed their personal and struggling issues in their autobiography. I think she is frustrated as its difficult enough for women to be seen as powerful and strong (something which Girls Aloud portray themselves to be!) and yet they are exposing their weakness to the world. Shouldnt we be more positive and talk about our successes and what made us strong.... |
