Jack's Mannequin – Dark Blue Lyrics 15 years ago
I feel so proud, I finally figured out this song. I joined the site just to post this. :)

So basically this song is about the music industry. Have you ever been alone in a crowded room? is the line that pretty much sums it up. He thinks that he's the only one in this industry that really understands the music. But then he finds someone, who I presume is his wife, that really feels the music (just like he does). They both feel pressured to 'present', to please people. Sometimes he forgets the music, forgets the meaning, but he always has to come back to it.
I said the world could be burning till there's nothing but dark blue... he could be consumed by the industry, but he'll always see the meaning. It's almost to reassure the other person that he'll always be ok.
And the third verse, the one about water reaching the west coast. That verse is about maybe one of his personally favorite artists going mainstream. I'm unsure if this is Something Corporate, and he's sorta observing what happened to them after he started Jack's Mannequin. But I don't know.

And the last line means that if the girl, his wife, was to ever be alone, than she should just listen to his music. I'm guessing this is written in fear that he would die from cancer.

Any thoughts?
