I think differently. Maybe they're going back to their old style, but I think the line "I'm getting back what I gave" could be taken differently. I saw it in a different light. It's like Chester and the band gave us all their heart in Minutes to Midnight, and we threw it right back at them and said, "Trash." I think "let the dead man sing" might be the line that says, "Fine, we'll bring that back." "The pain it comes in waves." It really hurt them that we trashed it. This song makes me feel really bad. I still love it though. I'm not one of the ones that threw it back in their face. I'd stick with LP through any genre. I think the thing with this song is a sad retreat. They're basically saying. "It was really hard trying to express who are, and you threw it back at us. It really hurt. I guess we asked for it though. But for you, we're going back to the old LP." |
