Dio, Rainbow, Ritchie Blackmore, often used Biblical imagery in song lyrics, but not in the same manner written in the Bible. I think jhardin has it right that Ezekiel was a basis for the songs imagry, but it's definitely not talking about the same thing. Dio once made a comment in concert that this song was a reference to his past and some of those in the band. Just pure speculation on my part, but I'm guessing this is about getting high most likely from heroin and the man on the silver mountain is the pusher and/or the person once their high. |
