| AFI – Perfect Fit Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| This was one of my favorite AFI songs growing up, and now that I really look at it I can see it as being more open to interpretation than just a SxE song, it could even be the opposite. Most Straight-edgers will never really understand that though. "I won't be sedated" doesn't mean I won't be on drugs because a lot of drugs do the exact opposite (stimulants), and everything else is very open and only about not conforming or feeling ashamed of how you felt before. SxEers feel like they're not conforming by using drugs, drug users feel they're not conforming because they use drugs which isn't the norm. SxEers may feel ashamed for past drug use or thinking drugs might have been cool at some point and be ashamed of this now that their views have been changed, drug users may feel ashamed they used to put others down for drug use before they tried or understood it. But it could also be thought of a relationship or anything really, so maybe the title does really suit it. | |

Here's the deal on the whole LSD thing: LSD can be a step towards realizing spirtuality ect., but you can't actually achieve it from dropping acid all the time. It just helps you see the possibilities. "LSD isn't a real answer. It doesn't give you anything. It enables you to see a lot of possibilities that you may never have noticed before, but it isn't the answer. You don't just take LSD and that's it forever, you're okay. ". . . It can help you to go from A to B, but when you get to B, you see C. And you see that to get really high, you have to go it straight. There are special ways of getting high without drugs--with yoga, meditation, and all those things. So this was the disappointing thing about LSD. http://lifeofthebeatles.blogspot.com/2009/12/george-harrisons-thoughts-on-lsd.html |
