Can I just say thanks for all the comments here - I'd never heard of the Tom T. Hall song and that's definitely the key to understanding the song. For what it's worth, I don't think the 'T' is a Thunderbird or a Trojan - my intepretation is that it refers to the middle initial in Tom T. Hall, as in: Tom T. Hall being who he was (a famous country singer/songwriter) didn't help him get loose, what's a guy without a 'T', that is a guy who is *not* Tom T. Hall going to get - totally screwed. I think the Stroker Ace probably is short of money for a condom machine, but that's not what the T stands for. That's my take anyway! |
