I like your breakdown, but I think that it goes a bit deeper. I could be reading a bit too much into it, but it sounds a bit like some kind of stalker or Psychopath. The first bit seems to be him saying goodbye to a hometown or a group of friends, but with a hint of paranoia that things will change, but the interesting part is: "She means the world to me, so hold your serpent tongue. Is a whores lies worth dying for? I'll just take my time." Most people interpret that as a conversation between 2 people, fighting over a girl, but what if its not? What if its a person who is obsessed over a woman, but she has rejected him? The part immediately following, where he apparently kills her, would suddenly make sense. I spend alot of time thinking along the same lines as everyone else, but that ending always struck me as odd. Again, I could be reading too much into it. |
